About Dr. Chad Sears

Dr. Chad SearsDr. Chad Sears was raised on a farm in rural Illinois and lived there with his parents and younger sister until he left for college at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.  It was the hours of work alone in a molecular biology lab at U of I that made Dr. Sears realize he wanted to pursue a more "social" career.

Dentistry was a natural fit, and it was actually a summer research internship at the National Institute of Dental Research in Bethesda, Maryland studying facial development that made Dr. Sears first consider orthodontics as a possible specialization.  After leaving the Midwest for dental school at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, Dr. Sears decided that orthodontics was his passion.  He was thrilled to be accepted to the graduate orthodontic program at the University of California, San Francisco.

During his residency at UCSF, Dr. Sears served as Chief Resident of the program, won a national research award from the American Association of Orthodontists, and has now earned the title of Diplomate from the American Board of Orthodontics.  He looks forward to helping the people of Alameda create beautiful smiles and well-balanced bites!
